Basic Makeup Artistry Program (Course 104)

Intermediate Makeup Artistry Program (Course 105)

Basic and Intermediate Makeup Artistry Program (Course 106)

Total: 165 Hours

Includes courses: 104 and 105

Programs include at least one makeup artistry class and the associated Job Skills course(s).

Prospective makeup artists need to understand that outside the retail cosmetic industry, most makeup artistry work is freelance, less than 40 hours per week and may entail odd, early or long hours.

Placement Assistance includes support, motivation, and information on full and part-time entry level positions, typically in the retail environment, if jobs have been listed with us.

While retail positions are numerous and we work closely with major department stores in our region, there are occasions when there will be no jobs listed with us, or there may be no jobs listed in a student’s desired employment locale.  At these times, students will have to use their job search skills to generate their own opportunities.

Remember, the majority of all job openings are never advertised.

Students are also reminded that freelance work, part-time work, counter coverage, and internships are excellent vehicles to showcase skills, gain access to employers and build credentials.

In the mean time, students desiring to improve their skills in business, management, human relations, and other areas outside the purview of The Professional Beauty E-Training Center curriculum are encouraged to continue their education at other nearby public and private postsecondary schools.  Our Admissions Counselors have a list of other schools in the region and students are encouraged to ask for copies.

Students are also encouraged to network with other students and to encourage their employers to call The Professional Beauty E-Training Center when they have jobs available.

The school maintains a “Jobs Available” listing and students with appropriate skills may be referred.

STUDENT ADVISING

All administrative staff and instructors are available for advising on academic and professional matters and we welcome the opportunity to work with you to develop and refine your professional and vocational goals.

Students with counseling needs outside the purview of makeup artistry will be referred to outside agencies.

CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY

As a customer service oriented organization, we strive to resolve complaints as quickly as possible. Students are encouraged to provide the administration the opportunity to improve the school and its teaching/learning environment.  We can only improve if students, faculty and staff all speak up when there are problems or issues that need to be addressed.

STUDENT COMPLAINT PROCEDURE:

PROBLEM RESOLUTION SYSTEM

Student Process:

1)       A student may lodge a complaint by communicating orally or in writing to any teacher, administrator, admissions personnel, or counselor.

2)       The recipient of the complaint shall transmit it as soon as possible to the Student Services Assistant and they shall jointly attempt to resolve the complaints related to that person’s duties.

3)       If the student orally delivers the complaint and the complaint is not resolved either within a reasonable period or before the student  complains again about the same matter, the SSA will:

a)  Advise the student that the complaint must be submitted to the SSA in writing and

b) Provide the student with a written summary of the school’s complaint procedure.

4) If the student complains in writing, the school shall provide the student a written response within 10 days of receiving the complaint.

a)       The response will include a summary of the investigation and disposition of it.

b)       If the complaint or remedy suggested by the student is rejected, the response will include the reason for the rejection.

5) A student’s participation in the complaint procedure and the disposition of a student’s complaint shall not limit or waive any of the student’s rights or remedies.

School Process:

The Student Services Assistant has, in consultation with the Director, the authority and duty to do all of the following:

1) Investigate the complaint thoroughly, including interviewing all people and reviewing all documents that relate or may potentially relate to the complaint.

2) After investigation, the SSA can recommend the Director take any of the following actions:

a) Reject the complaint if it is determined to be unfounded,

b) Recommend a compromise, or

c) Resolve the complaint in any reasonable manner, including the payment of a refund.

3) The SSA will write a summary of the complaint, its disposition, and the reasons; place a copy of the summary, along with any other related documents, in the student’s file, and make an appropriate entry in the log of student complaints;

4) If the complaint is valid and involves a violation of law, and is not resolved within 30 days after it was first brought to the attention of the Student Services Assistant, additional steps will be taken.

a)       The SSA will notify the Director of the expiration of the 30-day period.

b)       The Director will notify the Executive Team, the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and law enforcement authorities of the complaint, investigation, and resolution or lack of resolution.

5)       If the complaint is valid, the SSA will assist the Director to determine which other students, if any, may have been affected by the same or similar circumstances and provide an appropriate remedy for those students.

6)       The Director and/or the Executive Team will implement reasonable policies or procedures to avoid similar complaints in the future.

Sexual Harassment Policy:

Any concern or allegation of sexual harassment should be brought to the immediate attention of the Student Services Assistant who will bring it to the Director.  All such allegations will be investigated. We want to insure that everyone at The Professional Beauty E-Training Center is comfortable and treated with respect.

Ø      We thank all the students, staff, and faculty in advance for helping us make The Professional Beauty E-Training Center a continuously improving, productive, and enjoyable environment in which to work and learn.

Ø      We can accomplish this best by addressing issues as they arise and working together to resolve them amicably.

The Professional Beauty E-Training Center strives to insure all students master the fundamental techniques taught in each course.

Our goal is to have all students successfully complete all courses they attempt.

For those students who need assistance beyond that offered in the regular online courses in order to reach the expected levels of mastery, we offer online assistance through email or one-on-one telephone assistance by appointment only. We also offer certain scheduled periods where an instructor will be available on line for chat sessions, in addition, each student will have their individual webpage (My Page), where they will be able to chat with other students taking similar courses.

Certificate of Completion

Students receive a Certificate of Completion after successful completion of each course and each Program.

Criteria for Receiving Certificates:

1.       Successful Completion of course or program (See Grading Policies)

2.       Tuition is paid in full.

Hygiene

Makeup artists in training and in the field work in very close proximity with their clientele. Thus good personal hygiene is essential to success in training and the industry. Professional and personal hygiene along with the proper sanitation techniques is part of the course instruction.  Therefore, students are expected to exercise good professional hygiene.
